The problem is it keeps asking for a Gas Reset when working with steam, and after resetting 4 times it gives me the error code 33-1. Since the new series with touch screen don't have the dip switches for diagnostic tests all i was able to verify is that the gas valve works, the ignitor electrode works, the burner starts and after 5-6 seconds the gas valve shuts off.

As someone been trough the same problem? Thanks in advance, Tiago. Hi, i'm in hands with a Rational oven, one of the new 5 senses series with the touch screen. Thanks in advance, TiagoDid you happen to notice whether the burner blower is running? The ignition module controls it too. I've had units requiring new modules just because of no output to the burner blower motor.

I have eleven of the original SCCs (no WEs, but maybe the same setup), so I'll share something else: That four pin connector with two wires to connect to the burner blower is a cheesy setup. The plug is assembled similarly to those quick-splice connectors (like ) that don't require stripping the wires. I've NEVER used those type of splices as it is, so having a plug which assembles that way (from the factory) on a high end combi-oven is a bit disappointing. 2004 Acura Tsx Service Manual.

The blower leads themselves are already a smaller gauge wire and I've discovered that vibration from the motor eventually causes that connector to gnaw its way through the wire strands one at a time. Ultimately the blower only works intermittently or not at all, although the wires may appear intact while looking at the plug. However, if you happen to notice that the blower isn't running, give each wire connected to the blower through that plug a gentle tug. You might find one (or both) will drop right out of there. If those wire connections appear to be falling apart in your hands, be sure keep note of where they go (the two center terminals, if I remember correctly). Then, with a little study of the plug, you'll find that after unhitching a few locking tabs, it can be pried apart (an inner section will slide out of the outer section) far enough to open it up.

Remove any remnants of the old wire strands and insulation, then lay the freshly trimmed leads back in there and compress the plug back together. The act of compressing it will complete the connection - just like those dastardly wire splices I'd mentioned earlier. Automotive Service Lab Manual more. You need to get into diagnostics and look at the gas error code history which will give you a more specific idea whats going on. Hi, thanks for all the quick answers. I've also checked the burner blower and it's working fine, i think everything points to the ignition box! Since it's one of the new touch screen modes i have no access to the diagnostic test (no dip switches, service level password required), so i'll take a chance with changing the ignition module and i'll keep you updated. Once again thanks for your help, TiagoSo I take it you've eliminated an ignition or flame sensing component issue?

You can hear it light up to confirm spark and gas flow? The sensing circuit is all good? You have good, clean ground connections throughout? I only ask because, as you may well know, that module is quite 'special' and Rational is v-e-r-y proud of it ($$$). Something I did on our SCC62G was meticulously keep track of the wiring and then temporarily swap plugs and connections around so that HOT AIR heat control became BOILER heat controls and vice-versa. I had to be sure.
